The 2011 Washington Middle School (WMS) Auction is celebrating the spirit of involvement and commitment that enriches the school experience for our students, our staff and our families.

We plan to have lots of fun commemorating our accomplishments, resources, experiences, and the diversity that sets our school apart. Like a puzzle, it takes many individual pieces fitting together to achieve the big picture – not only helping the school meet it’s needs, but coming together to help WMS reach even bigger mile- stones.

We need your to help create a wonderful evening, find just the right items to auction off, and work behind the scenes to pull all the pieces together.

Auctioneer, Matt Smith

Matt Smith has honed his remarkable talent as a theatre improviser to become one of the nation’s premier fund raising auctioneers, and an internationally renown communications facilitator. He consolidates his teaching, performance, writing and local experience to create an event that will be both memorable and fun. Matt co-founded the legendary Seattle Improv in 1985, and Stark/RavingTheatre with Ed Sampson in 1988. They created and toured numerous shows including award winning “Here/There”.

Golden Raffle

Purchase a raffle ticket for $25 each. The winner will get to choose any one item from our Live Auction. Only 200 tickets are available for purchase – increasing your chances to win! One beaded necklace will be given for each raffle ticket purchased.

Silent Auctions

Browse the tables to find an amazing array of items in all price ranges at our two silent auctions. Silent One, the Blue side, closes at 7:00 pm; Silent Two, the Orange side, closes at 7:15 pm.

Wine Toss

Back by popular demand! For only $20, you get three chances to win a bottle of wine by landing a ring on a bottle. If you win one with a “bonus bottle” sticker on the bottom, you’ll win an additional prize! The Wine Toss is available until 7:15 when the silent auctions close.

Dessert Dash

Be sure to check out our display of delectable desserts! These will be sold to each table during the Live Auction; Bid aggressively – the highest bidding table gets first pick!

Restaurant Frenzy

This event is a part of the Live Auction. We’ll bid on dining certificates from an array of restaurants at face value. Listen for our auctioneer to announce the frenzy, as the bidding is fast and furious! The first waving bid card acknowledged by Matt will be the winning bidder!

Raise the Paddle

Don’t miss this most important part of our auction occurring during the Live Auction, immediately following a video, produced by WMS parent and filmmaker, Brad Vanderburg. Be ready to raise your bid card to make a 100% tax-deductible donation to our school.

Wine Frenzy

This event is a part of the Live Auction. We’ll bid on bottles of wine at face value. Listen for our auctioneer to announce the frenzy, as the bidding is fast and furious! The first waving bid card acknowledged by Matt will be the winning bidder!
